Best idea

Make the game pay to play again. the game I belive did just fine during the time it cost to play. There is alot more players now and would help Mikkel out with the server cost and dont forget xmas is coming up fast and some times it gets hard when your supporting a game server and then have to buy tons of gifts for family.

Really dont care what any one else thinks... I wont be reading the replies.

If your not interested in people's opinion why make a thread?, a PM to Mikkel would have been more appropriate.

I honestly don't mind paying to play again, but I think we would lose ALOT of players, maybe it's best to have a donation page up and make OB pay to play when 3D comes out.

The donation page is a good idea, I wouldn't mind paying to play either though.

im broke and i aint playing to pay for what it's worth it's a great game and paying would cut out alot of trash talkers but.i dont think this is the way to do it.

maybe we could have an elite room or somthing like only certain people can go in. and really really advertise ob anywhere and everywhere

That idea by Mike Watson is really good. Please add pro/elite (whatever it should be called) room to onlineboxing that only selected group of players can access.

This list of player who can access would be chosen and maintained by board of HOFers.

It is not a matter of trying to cut out those who can't pay...it is about helping Mikkel keep up with costs of maintaining the game.

Everyone here throws the word advertising around, but it isn't that easy. If you're speaking, spamming forums? Well that is not necessarily "advertising" that would make Mikkel money. The advertising for sponsors either costs money out of his pocket or is simply not so easy to come by.

I think a donation page would be nice. I would donate. He wasn't charging $20 a month either.

I would not pay to play OB. It's an awesome game, but i have no source of income. It would also cut down on players by 90% approx, a lot of people don't like to spend money monthly on games unless they are MMORPG's. Watsons idea would work (if the aim is to stop random idiots) but if only the pro/elite could get in i wouldn't be in there, which would be bad.

Basically, i don't think P2P is a good way to go.

When OB was pay to play i loved it the Server was tons better....there was no idiot 8yr olds spamming all the time but i think new players get like a 30 day free trial than after u use it make it unavalible for tht person IP after its up and than everyone just pays a meesly 3$ i mean cmon its only pocket change and it makes a huge difference to the game economy cuz to be honest OB isnt tht fun anymore with some ppl around. And Ray we used to have to play and there was atleast 17 ppl in OBW at 1 time everyday so its a good idea it was than and is now.

My Vote:Bring back pay to player

$3 = £1.47789

How would i pay that and through what.

I personally think that paying again would lose alot of players but at the end of the day its all up to mikkel.

However if it did come bback i wouldnt e able to afford it since i have no money coming in and therefore i would retire as a OB fighter.

give everybody a limit of how many posts they can make a month.....................read their IP address so they cannot make multiple accounts...............create a computer based chat room moderator to boot out foul language and sexual banter just like in MSN chat rooms.................and that rids you of tedious moderator cleanups, overpopulated Boxing names which gives people a chance to put together good ones and rid foul and obscene content from the chat rooms...................charging again will shut this game down....is isn't worth paying especially when the most people that come in a room a day average 8-12 people when there could be 500..................................on the other hand Skills makes a point of the volume of people coming in after they've paid. When you take money out of people's pockets it makes them respect what they've paid for
this game HAS been taken for granted..........................................
