I don't agree with you that the arguments comes mostly from boxing fans, on most threads I've read the mma people are always declaring boxing as "dead" and boring and one-dimensional, soon to be taken over by mma.
Boxing has been declared dead since the introduction of karate in the 70ties but it still didn't happen.
Don't argue with me on this one donny, you know that's what they say.

This is something that I don't understand, how can destroying boxing make them bigger ? Whats next on the hitlist, football ?

Most mma fans I've talked to have some kind of strange intense hate for boxing which I can't explain.

Maybe we should just stop reading those posts since mostly fanatics of some kind post there, and they are not an expression of the common opinion.

Btw, I saw some fights from UFC #1 and that was actually interesting, UFC is so far removed from that now. I really liked the tournament setup.

I can't see Floyd making it big in MMA, he could destroy alot of the fighters with just striking imo, but when he starts to get up with the clever technical lads I don't think he will have enough all round ability to cope. He's much better off just fighting a few more fights in Boxing.

exactly my point Oscar hes not built for MMA no ground abliliy no submisson no escapes none of tht....he might as well just put tht finally stamp on his legacy as one if the The best fighter of all time.

Yeah I have stopped reading most posts, they are full of idiotic biased views and comments.

The old UFC was awsome I thought, was funny as hell to watch and it was more of a challenge for the guys involved doing it the tourny way. It cost Royce his fight against Pain (I think it was) after he couldn't carry on 'cos of his fight with Kemo. We also saw Tito make his debute (not in #1) due to a main fighter pulling out and Tito stepping in as an alt.

im just saying hattons only fought 2 good fighters or atleast the only 2 good 1s weve heard of in america Tszyu n PBF n yea i dnt no much bout mma cuz imo boxing is tons better even tho it cn be a bit boring a times so can mma and if ufc was like it used 2 b how my dad described it i wuda loved it i heard the rules were alot less strict u could wear no gloves tht wuda been lots funner but some ppl do make MMA exciting all the good fighters in mma got 3+ losses,in boxing u get 2 by 2 diff ppl ur considered OK all im saying is theres a big difference in them and for some reason i like Boxing better so we can end this argument right now cuz were both gunna keep thinking our own opinions.....

You saw Joe defending his favourite sport which is fine.

Joe was saying that boxings popularity is dying while MMA is growing, if you look at the way it's grown at the rate it has grown then there is no doubt that MMA is becomming one of if not the most watched sports on the planet.

Larry I'm not denying a lot of MMA guys disrespect Boxing but that's not me. I like Boxing, I always have and will like it but I like MMA more. Also why does it matter that they do ? A lot of Boxing guys disrespect MMA but that doesn't matter also because at the end of the day if you want to ignore that crap then you can. If we let this debate continue it can only hurt both sports on the whole so I say we (as in fans of both sports) all just drop it and get along 'cos honestly dude it's like hitting our heads against a wall.
