If u lose by knockout be it 1 or 3 you were not man enough to finish the fight on your feet in the ring. Do u want a tourney of runners or fighters?? Not being able to finish the fight is worth more than being able to run for 12 rds and get a decision.

Does the average boxing fan want a JT fight like he had Spinks or do they want to watch a fight like the one with Pavlik.

JT could make PPV in a rematch with Pavlik. Do u think people would pay for a replay of the Spinks fight?

Just as you run into a problem with guys just boxing to a decision to get the 2 points...you run the risk of guys just surviving after getting beat up in order to not get KOed...

so there is give and take either way...

I just choose KO to be less points because ANYBODY can land a shot out of no where if they are behind..

at least a decision is either more definitive or shows a competitive full length fight on paper...meaning both men actually tried

a KO yes is exciting, but a fighter well ahead can get caught with one punch vs a fighter who is getting beat up and ONLY going for a cheap KO win....the fighter who was losing badly may not deserve a lot of points just for landing a well timed left hook or throwing it and hoping it lands

you say people will just run...no they won't...because the MOST points you can get is through TKO...meaning guys WILL go for technical knockouts...it won't all be runners...

punchers can go for TKOs for the most points...boxers/counter punchers can go for TKOs through breaking down their opponents..

True, but boxing is different to OB. In OB you can come back from 4-0 in knockdowns on the last round. In real life there is a small chance you'll get a knockout on your opponent. So yes, a KO is worth more then a decision but only in real life.

It means something both ways...but it is harder to win a tough decision, to win via dominant decision, or knock your opponent down 5 more times than yourself than to suddenly land two big left hooks...

I am not saying a KO isn't meaningful..I just think it deserves the least points Monk

Yea i guess you guys are right. Why take a chance in ending a fight when you can win by decision and not take any chances. A boxer who is a decision fighter should never lose by a KO by gettin caught. But I can see both sides. Anyway you look at it the tourney is a great idea. After all Mayweather is the most exciting boxer out there
