After i saw the movie i was looking for the real case behind this movie. It took place in germany (ok..i am ready for the jokes now..lol). It was the case "Anneliese Michel".

Exorcisms aren't scary. Its just retarded and painfully sad that these people actually think they're experiencing something. Ironically, 'speaking in tongues' looks identical to exorcism without all the rolling around. I don't know why that's considered speaking to god as its so similar to demonic possession.

I watched the movie and right after that i saw that vid from the link and that was scary
Another thing is that i am open-minded to ghost-stuff or paranormal stuff. It really depends on that. If you think "aaahh...fuck that, this things are not possible" its not scary and just humbug. But from time to time i like that stuff. But i respect your atitude to this things.

I'm not being stubborn in saying that these things aren't possible, but there's no proof anywhere so its too hard for me to believe it.
Check out this video:

If you can keep up with the English (it can be quite hard, its fast), this video has some explanations about 'open-mindedness'. It basically says that accepting ideas that can't be proven can't really be called open-minded.

to accept a proven fact you dont need to be open-minded. For me "open-minded" is not to believe certain things like paranormal, alien-stuff, second-sight etc.
Its more to believe that it is not unbelievable. I am more like "maybe its possible, maybe not..". I am no "New-Age"-Freak or something like that...but i dont laugh about this people. I accept their believes. Same goes to the paranormal stuff people or the alien-hunters You cant count me in to one of this groups but i accept their beeing and accept the circumstance that maybe..just maybe there could be something true in their beliefs. Thats open-minded for me.
Not long ago i got a palaver (dont know if this word exists in the english-speak..it just means a long conversation with somebody that was like "aliens? life in space similar to human beeing? that dont exist and that is a proven science fact. Its not possible..". Now just a few weeks later i read the news that they found another galaxie out in space with very old stars and planets...and some of this planets got the condition for life on it, some of this planets are similar to the earth". So is there really no possibility that there is life in space? I dont think so....i am open-minded

Anything is possible, yes, but..
Science can't prove that an evil spirit from another realm of existence is talking (or something) through a human in an exorcism. Science also can't prove that exorcism isn't a dog using psychic powers. So why believe either of these theories? Or any other theory from the infinite amount of possible theories??
Neither of us are close minded. But the difference between you and me is that you have to explain why you think exorcisms aren't dogs using psychic powers without contradicting yourself.
You can't base your ideas on that things haven't been disproved, because then you could believe anything and that ends up being based on chance. A better system is to believe things that have been proved and work upward.

PS the aliens vs. exorcism is a false comparison
As for aliens, science doesn't declare or deny it but the laws of probability and reasoning skills do support the idea. REDNECK__ is right calling it a false comparison.

I got my daily laugh out of this Ray. Please keep up the good work.

- OB Accounts: Rocky Marciano plus too many alts
- Join Date: 2007
- Status: Retired for now. Logs on every now and then just to troll.
- OB Class: A+++++ Elite and yes you got it right a FIVE STAR Elite.
- Goals: Been there, seen that, done it all so none other than reaching 1000 fights (on an alt) with above 90% win percentage I have been hunting after ever since joining OB2D.
- Titles won: too many to remember
- Title defenses: too many to remember
- Best win streak 132 wins in a row in total.
- Style: Very technical when needed to. Other than that force ko for the win!
- Signature Punch: The Rocky Marciano combo (now also available without french fries).
- Signature Taunt: Letting opponent recover back to full healt before KOing him for good.
- Weakness: Fatny, the king of OB2D
- Career highlights: Been there and done it all but yes there is one little thing that rises above all titles and such: making Reaper quit after I tkoed him 16 times in a row all inside first two rounds. We were supposed to box 100 times
- Quotes: "I just TKoed you 16 times in a row Reaper. What's the matter? Can not make is past first two rounds? Did I make you quit? Why so silent all of sudden? Oh I just made you STFU "
- Stupid nickname given by other players: Mini Fatny.
- Words of wisdom: Styles make fights. Sometimes even HOF caliber fighters lose to inferior boxers due to this fact. Everyone has their rythm and once you get inside that rythm, you will make life hell for that person (in the ring).
- PS. All signatures are stupid. |
